I hope y’all survived the holidays. Ours were fairly uneventful. Life kind of just continued as normal. We visited some family December 29th, which was nice. David had to work Christmas Eve, December 31st and January 1st. But he was off on Christmas Day, and we basically hung out together all day with games, music and snacks. NYE was chill too. When David got back from work, we ordered really good Thai soup with a ton of veggies, then chilled in our room together with beer, snacks, and anime.
On the 27th we made the Big Trip, all the way to New Orleans. We left around 5:30am and returned around 4:15pm. I can cross 3 more states off my list: Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana! We had really bad weather, pretty stressful traffic, and a Uhaul van we had to return before 5pm, so we didn’t get to see or do much. But despite all of that, this trip made me want to travel more together in the future.
The next step in our quest to keep us Home together, is to provide extra evidence. We will not be able to do so until the end of January, so for now, we simply have to wait. Hopefully processing will be swift and smooth after that.
I’ve gotten some questions about why we are still stressed, and in need of money. People seem to assume we’re done now. We really aren’t. I am currently nobody here. I don’t have a Social Security Number, no Green Card, I barely have any rights, and there still is a chance (however minuscule) that I am not allowed to stay.
Apart from that, our living situation is currently very bad. For safety reasons we unfortunately can’t publicly talk about details, but I am very willing to talk about it privately. If you don’t have me on Discord, WhatsApp or Bluesky, you’re always free to email me at adhdidi@gmail.com

Laten we er allemaal naar streven om in 2025 zo lief mogelijk voor onszelf te zijn. Ik weet dat het niet altijd makkelijk is, want het leven is dat niet. Maar je verdient het. *Echt waar.*
Ik hoop dat jullie de feestdagen hebben overleefd. Die van ons verliepen vrij rustig. Het leven ging gewoon door zoals normaal. We bezochten wat familie op 29 december, wat gezellig was. David moest werken op Kerstavond, 31 december en 1 januari. Maar hij was vrij op Kerstdag (er is hier maar 1 Kerstdag) en we brachten vrijwel de hele dag samen door met spelletjes, muziek en snacks. Oud&Nieuw was ook chill. Toen David terugkwam van werk, bestelden we overheerlijke Thaise soep met een berg groenten, om daarna samen te chillen in onze kamer met bier, snacks, en anime.
Op de 27ste maakten we de Grote Trip, helemaal naar New Orleans. We vertrokken rond 05:30 uur en kwamen rond 16:15 uur terug. Ik kan nog 3 staten van mijn lijstje afstrepen: Alabama, Mississippi, en Louisiana! We hadden erg slecht weer, behoorlijk stressvol verkeer en een Uhaul-busje dat we vóór 17:00 uur terug moesten brengen, dus we hebben niet veel gezien of gedaan. Maar ondanks dat alles, zorgde deze reis ervoor dat ik in de toekomst vaker samen wil reizen.
De volgende stap in onze queeste om samen Thuis te blijven, is het leveren van extra bewijsmateriaal. Dat kunnen we pas eind januari doen, dus voorlopig moeten we nog even wachten. Hopelijk verloopt de verwerking daarna snel en soepel.
Ik heb wat vragen gekregen over waarom we nog steeds gestrest zijn en geld nodig hebben. Men lijkt aan te nemen dat we nu klaar zijn. Dat zijn we echt niet. Ik ben op dit moment niemand hier. Ik heb geen Social Security Number (BSN), geen Green Card (verblijfsvergunning), ik heb nauwelijks rechten en er is nog steeds een kans (hoe minuscuul ook) dat ik niet mag blijven.
Daarnaast is onze woonsituatie momenteel erg slecht. Om veiligheidsredenen kunnen we helaas niet in het openbaar over details praten, maar ik ben zeer bereid om er privé over te praten. Als je me niet op Discord, WhatsApp of Bluesky hebt, kun je me altijd mailen op adhdidi@gmail.com
